Giants rookie safety Landon Collins suffers knee injury

CINCINNATI -- New York Giants rookie safety Landon Collins left a preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals to have an injured knee examined.

The second-round pick from Alabama was hurt in the first quarter and came to the sideline. He later went to the locker room for an exam.

Collins is part of a revamped defensive secondary that struggled during the Bengals' opening series. Andy Dalton led the Bengals 52 yards in six plays, completing all three of his passes. He threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Mohamed Sanu, and the Bengals rested their starters.

Collins was in for the start of Cincinnati's second series.
