Judge orders sale of Aaron Hernandez's house, hummer

A Massachusetts Superior Court judge has authorized the sale of Aaron Hernandez's house and Hummer.

The order comes after a joint request from attorneys for the former New England Patriots tight end and Ursula Ward, the mother of Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez is in prison, serving a life sentence for shooting Lloyd to death in 2013.

Ward filed a wrongful death suit against Hernandez in December 2013, sixth months after Hernandez was arrested. But a Massachusetts judge ruled the civil case could not continue until the criminal case was resolved.

In April, shortly after Hernandez was convicted of killing her son, Ward announced she would go forward with the suit.

Proceeds from the sale of Hernandez's property, including the house in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, will be held by the court until Ward's suit is resolved.
