TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Cardinals wide receiver who was shot twice last week had his rookie season put on hold Tuesday.
Arizona placed Damond Powell on the reserve/non-football injury list to make room for tight end Jermaine Gresham, who signed his contract Tuesday. Powell will not count against the 90-man roster.
Powell was shot Friday night in a driveway outside his home in Toledo, Ohio. According to his high school coach, Rick Rios, one bullet hit Powell's jaw and another was lodged between the C1 and C2 vertebrae in his neck. Powell was listed in stable condition.
