49ers prepare to make 7 more picks on draft's final day

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers used their first three draft picks on defenders, adding defensive end Arik Armstead, safety Jaquiski Tartt and linebacker Eli Harold.

Whether general manager Trent Baalke switches gears to focus on upgrading the offense for the final day of the NFL draft on Saturday is anybody's guess.

He again will not commit to anything of the sort, though it would seem logical with seven remaining picks to add at least a couple of options to join quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Co.

The Niners have three fourth-round choices, two in the seventh, one each in the fifth and sixth.

"There's a lot of this draft still left to go," Baalke says. "We'll just keep filling `em up and create as much depth as we can."
