Chicago Bears defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff was give one year of probation and fined after pleading guilty to a 2013 DWI charge on Thursday.
Ratliff, who then was with the Dallas Cowboys, was arrested in Grapevine, Texas, in the early-morning hours of Jan. 22, 2013, after he crashed his pickup truck into an 18-wheeler. After a search warrant for his blood was issued more than two hours later, tests determined that Ratliff's blood-alcohol level was .16 -- more than twice the legal limit -- according to Grapevine police.
Ratliff, who appeared Thursday in Tarrant County Criminal Court, must now submit to any field sobriety test requested by an officer during traffic stops. He also was fined $750.
Since the arrest, Ratliff has completed a DWI education course, gone through a substance abuse evaluation and completed 20 hours of community service.
Ratliff missed the Bears' three-day voluntary minicamp this week.
"I know where he is, I'm not going to go into all the situations but don't expect him here this weekend, no," Bears coach John Fox told reporters.
Ratliff, a four-time Pro Bowl selection with the Cowboys, had 6.5 sacks last season for the Bears and is under contract through the 2015 season.
