Cowboys punter Chris Jones agrees to 2-year extension

The Dallas Cowboys and punter Chris Jones have agreed to a two-year contract extension through 2017.

Jones already has signed his restricted free-agent tender from the Cowboys for the 2015 season. He will make up to $4.2 million, including $750,000 in guaranteed signing bonus money, over the next three years, a source told ESPN's Field Yates.

Jones, 25, averaged 45.4 yards per punt last season, his fourth with the Cowboys.

Jones has been Dallas' regular punter in each of the past two seasons and has averaged 45.0 yards per punt over his career.
