Dorsett could sneak into first round

It might come as a surprise to some, given that they finished with a 6-7 record last season, but the 2014 Miami Hurricanes possessed one of the most talented rosters in college football. In fact, they have the second-most players with draftable grades of any school in the country. Much of that talent was on display Wednesday at Miami's pro day, including several players who could land in the first three rounds of the 2015 NFL draft.

All 32 NFL teams were in attendance, and I saw the likes of Bills general manager Doug Whaley, Dolphins coach Joe Philbin, Saints coach Sean Payton, and Steelers GM Kevin Colbert and coach Mike Tomlin. Former Canes Frank Gore, Edgerrin James and Andre Johnson were also there to check out the next wave of talent entering the NFL from The U.

Here are my thoughts on the top prospects in attendance:

1. Phillip Dorsett could sneak into the first round

Dorsett has been impressive throughout the draft process. It started out at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, where he was clearly the fastest player in attendance and a standout among the wide receivers, and continued today with excellent sprint times and work in the drills. His 40-yard-dash times were 4.27 and 4.24 seconds -- excellent numbers and an improvement from his 4.33 40 time at the combine -- and he really stood out in the passing drills.
