Free-agency guide: Steelers

Will re-signing outside linebacker Jason Worilds be a priority for Pittsburgh? Joe Sargent/Getty Images

Ahead of the start of free agency, Insider is providing buyer's guides for all 32 teams: biggest need positions from Football Outsiders, top targets from KC Joyner and Matt Williamson and predictions on how everything will play out from our NFL Nation team reporters.

Included below are links to every team's article. This is the entry for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Biggest needs

Secondary: The Steelers have consistently fielded the oldest defense in the NFL under Mike Tomlin and that did not change much last year, with veterans such as Brett Keisel and James Harrison contributing to a struggling unit that ranked 30th in DVOA, including 30th against the pass. (DVOA is Football Outsiders' Defense-adjusted Value Over Average metric, explained here.) The top of the draft is where this team must target the secondary, as Ike Taylor (a free agent) and Troy Polamalu are too old to be reliable starters, while Cortez Allen (demoted from the starting lineup at midseason) and Mike Mitchell disappointed in 2014.
