Bills hire Kromer, 5 others to coaching staff

NFL, Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have hired former Bears offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer as an offensive line coach while adding five others to coach Rex Ryan's staff.

Kromer was fired from the Bears in December after a miserable season that also cost coach Marc Trestman and general manager Phil Emery their jobs. Amid Chicago's issues, Kromer admitted he was a source behind an NFL report critical of quarterback Jay Cutler late in the season.

The Bills announced Monday they also hired Michael Hamlin as a special teams quality control coach, Sanjay Lal as wide receivers coach, Anthony Lynn as a running backs coach, D'Anton Lynn as a defensive assistant and Chris Palmer as a senior offensive assistant.

The team is retaining four other coaches: assistant offensive line coach Kurt Anderson, defensive backs coach Donnie Henderson, outside linebackers coach Jason Rebrovich and offensive quality control coach Jason Vrable.
