Miles Austin hospitalized after loss

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Cleveland Browns receiver Miles Austin will remain in a Buffalo hospital overnight after sustaining a kidney injury during a 26-10 loss to the Bills.

The Browns issued the update four hours after the game Sunday.

Austin, who had seven catches for a team-leading 86 yards, appeared to be injured while leaping over a defender and being tackled after a 12-yard catch.

Austin was at his locker and answered questions after the game -- the Bills provided a quote sheet with his answers -- but evidently complained of issues and was taken out of the stadium via ambulance.

On the season, he has 47 receptions for 568 yards and two touchdowns.

Browns tight end Gary Barnidge did not return after hurting his ribs in the first quarter. Center Nick McDonald did not return after hurting his ankle in the first quarter.

McDonald was already filling in for injured starter Alex Mack. Backup lineman Ryan Seymour finished the game at center.

The Browns (7-5) did not provide any details on the severity of the injuries.

Information from The Associated Press and ESPN.com's Pat McManamon was used in this report.
