Why Brees is missing Sproles

ESPN NFL Insider Mike Sando spent Sunday with ESPN NFL analyst Jon Gruden and the "Monday Night Football" crew in New Orleans, site of the Baltimore Ravens-New Orleans Saints matchup in Week 12 (ESPN, 8:15 p.m. ET). Sando files a few takeaways from Gruden regarding key storylines for these teams, in Gruden's voice.

1. The Saints are not the same this season, and neither is Drew Brees.

Brees will admit he has turned the ball over too much -- 12 times so far this season. But it is not just that. It is how those turnovers have happened. One of them was at the end of the game against Detroit. One of them was an error that you never see him make, in the red zone against San Francisco on a play he has hit so many times. Some of them have just been head-scratching turnovers for a man of his talent. The numbers are still very good and they are really three or four plays from being 7-3, but it is not the same for Brees or for the Saints this season.
