Redskins' Jackson vague over Instagram post

ASHBURN, Va. -- DeSean Jackson remains vague about the Instagram post that contributed to the latest drama surrounding Robert Griffin III.

The Washington Redskins receiver earlier this week posted an Instagram photo that said: "You can't do epic (stuff) with basic people."

It came the day after Griffin had said that great quarterbacks "don't play well if their guys don't play well."

Jackson has offered varying explanations of the post. He told San Francisco writers in a conference call that it "wasn't directed toward anybody."

On Thursday, he said: "Whoever felt like it was directed at them, that's who it was directed at."

Coach Jay Gruden asked his players to tone down their social media comments after Jackson's post.

Asked about the criticism Griffin receives, Jackson said: "That's what comes with being a professional athlete. You have to know how to take it, how to give it. Criticism is a big factor in this game we play."
