Gronkowski fueling Pats' rebound

NFL, New England Patriots

When the Patriots touched down in New England following what was certainly an excruciatingly long flight home after a 41-14 drubbing at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs on "Monday Night Football" in Week 4, they found themselves at the bottom of the league in terms of yards per play on offense. Dead last. That stat -- though not the only one of note -- symbolized what was evident during the season's first quarter: The offense had no semblance of rhythm or efficiency.

And then, just six days later, facing what had been the best defense in the NFL to that point (which also had an extra week to prepare, coming off of a bye), the Patriots walloped the Bengals 43-17. What was clear then is only clearer now: The Patriots offense is back on track.

The reason? Rob Gronkowski is back.

Let's take a look at the Gronk Effect and what it means for the Patriots' offense going forward.
