Redskins' Gruden: RG3 is 'wild card' for Monday

ASHBURN, Va. -- Jay Gruden says Colt McCoy remains the Washington Redskins starting quarterback as of "right now" -- but the coach called Robert Griffin III a "wild card" who still has a chance to start Monday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Gruden said Wednesday that Griffin still needs to be cleared for full contact and satisfy the coaches that he's ready in order to play. The coach said he'd like to make a final decision by the end of practice Thursday.

Griffin took part in a variety of drills -- from individual to team -- on a rotating basis with the other quarterbacks during practice Wednesday. It was a bonus session for the Redskins because they have an extra day to prepare for a Monday game.
