Redskins get good news on Trent Williams' knee

NFL, Washington Redskins, New York Giants

ASHBURN, Va. -- The Washington Redskins don't expect Trent Williams to miss any games after the two-time Pro Bowl left tackle injured his right knee against the New York Giants.

Coach Jay Gruden said Friday that Williams didn't need an MRI, as had been anticipated, and that the knee was stable.

Williams was injured in Thursday night's 45-14 loss.

Backup safety Trenton Robinson left the game in the fourth quarter with a high ankle sprain and could miss several weeks. Gruden said Robinson was on crutches Friday.

Tight end Niles Paul is recovering from a concussion from a helmet-to-helmet hit in the game. He'll have to go through the NFL-mandated concussion protocol before he can return.

Gruden said defensive end Jarvis Jenkins is day-to-day. Jenkins left the game with a rib injury.
