Bernard Pierce out vs. Browns

CLEVELAND -- Baltimore Ravens starting running back Bernard Pierce is inactive for Sunday's game at the Cleveland Browns.

Veteran journeyman Justin Forsett is expected to start in place of Pierce, who was listed as questionable with a thigh injury. The Ravens have three running backs active (Forsett, rookie fourth-round pick Lorenzo Taliaferro and undrafted rookie Fitzgerald Toussaint) but only Forsett has a carry in an NFL regular-season game.

The Ravens' depth at running back was already depleted after the team released Ray Rice on Sept. 8. The Ravens are now without the top two projected running backs when the season started.

This is the first time in Pierce's 35-game career that he's been sidelined, although he has repeatedly battled injuries. Pierce was added to the injury report Thursday when he was limited in practice, but he had full participation on Friday.

Cornerback Lardarius Webb will play in his first game this season after being inactive for the first two weeks with a back injury.
