In conjunction with the release of the #NFLRank rollout on ESPN.com, Football Outsiders will provide an audit of the list, selecting the most overrated and underrated players revealed each day of the countdown.
Here are the most underrated and overrated players ranked 51-100 on both offense and defense.
Underrated
Campbell
Calais Campbell, Arizona Cardinals (No. 52 defense)
Campbell may be at the top of the 51-100 defense list, but No. 52 is still too low for the man who competes with Muhammad Wilkerson for the title of "best 3-4 lineman who is not J.J. Watt." Usually it's hard to find any statistical evidence for why 3-4 defensive ends are playing well, because they often are soaking up blockers so teammates can make plays. That's not the case with Campbell, who last year had nine sacks as well as 14 quarterback hits, 24 hurries and six passes batted down, according to Football Outsiders game charting. He also was a big reason the Cardinals stuffed running backs for a loss or no gain a league-leading 28 percent of the time; his average run tackle came after a gain of just 1.4 yards, 14th among defensive linemen.
