Source: Greene has knee surgery

NFL, Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans running back Shonn Greene is expected to miss the remainder of the team's organized activities after recently undergoing right knee surgery, a source confirmed to ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky.

Greene, who missed five games last season after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure on the same knee, is expected to be ready for training camp in July. Tennessee conducts most of its on-field activities in June.

Greene's surgery had been earlier reported by the Tennessean.

Greene, 28, was a disappointment in his first season with the Titans, rushing for 295 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. He'd signed a three-year, $10 million contract with Tennessee after spending his first four seasons with the New York Jets.

The Titans will have a revamped backfield this season. Since releasing six-year veteran Chris Johnson last month, the team added Kansas City's Dexter McCluster in free agency and selected Bishop Sankey in the second round of the NFL draft.
