Marcus Trufant to retire with Seattle

Marcus Trufant will retire with the Seattle Seahawks.

The former Seattle cornerback will sign a one-day contract with the team so he can officially announce his retirement on Thursday.

Trufant will hold a news conference Thursday at 2 p.m. ET at the Seahawks facility to announce his retirement. Trufant, 33, is a Tacoma native who was a first-round pick by the team in 2003 out of Washington State.

He spent his entire career with the Seahawks before signing a one-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars last offseason. He was released in the final preseason cuts.

Trufant made the Pro Bowl is 2007. He started 125 games in his career, grabbing 21 interceptions, making 644 tackles and deflecting 102 passes.
