Will Hill facing another suspension

NFL, New York Giants

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants safety Will Hill is facing a suspension for a failed drug test, sources confirmed.

Hill is appealing the suspension, and it's unclear at this point how long the suspension is. But given where Hill is in the league's drug program already, he could be suspended for a full season.

Hill was suspended for four games in 2012 for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. He and the team later said that suspension was for Adderall, but the league does not disclose the specific substance.

Hill also was suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season for violating the league's policy on drugs of abuse, later stating in interviews that it was marijuana. He also was arrested in December for failure to pay child support -- a situation that the team said at the time it understood and had been quickly rectified.

Hill played well enough last year to be projected as one of the Giants' starting safeties along with Antrel Rolle this season. But the team also brought back Stevie Brown, who was a starting safety last summer before tearing his ACL in the preseason. They also signed Quintin Demps, who's primarily a kick returner but started six games at safety for the Kansas City Chiefs last year.
