Kelvin Benjamin leaving FSU for NFL

Florida State receiver Kelvin Benjamin, who scored the game-winning touchdown in the Vizio BCS National Championship, told ESPN's Joe Schad on Friday that he will enter the NFL draft.

Benjamin, a redshirt sophomore, caught a 2-yard TD pass from Jameis Winston with 13 seconds left in Monday night's 34-31 victory over Auburn. He finished the season with 54 receptions for 1,011 yards and 15 touchdowns. He emerged as a dominant force late in the season after periods of inconsistency and had two touchdown receptions in the ACC title game.

At 6-foot-5 and 234 pounds, Benjamin is a matchup nightmare because of his size and athleticism. His skill set has been compared to that of Calvin Johnson, though Benjamin must develop more consistency in route running and catching of some routine passes.

Benjamin is ranked 29th overall by ESPN's Scouts Inc., giving him a low-first-round grade.

He is the second high-profile member of the Seminoles to leave for the NFL in as many days. On Thursday, defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan -- rated No. 7 -- declared for the draft.
