Steelers LB Jarvis Jones ill, out for Packers game

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Pittsburgh Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones will miss Sunday's game against the Packers with an illness.

The team says Jones came down with the illness Saturday night.

Chris Carter will make his first start of the year in place of Jones. The Steelers last week also put veteran linebacker LaMarr Woodley on injured reserve with a right calf injury.

For the Packers, Mike Daniels will make his second start of the season at defensive end after Johnny Jolly was placed on injured reserve Saturday with shoulder and neck injuries. Daniels and linebacker Clay Matthews share the team lead with 6 1-2 sacks.

As expected, Matt Flynn is starting at quarterback for Aaron Rodgers (left collarbone), out a seventh straight week.

For the Steelers, Cortez Allen will make his third straight start at left cornerback for William Gay, who is active.
