May 22: After an offseason spent hitting the gym, Claiborne has added almost 10 pounds of muscle to his playing weight, the Dallas Morning News reports.
The new Cover 2 defensive scheme instituted by coordinator Monte Kiffin requires a lot of physical play from the cornerbacks, both in terms of tackling and jamming receivers at the line, so it's good to see that Claiborne is preparing himself for his new responsibilities. Don't expect huge IDP numbers from him as a sophomore, but he should improve from his performance as a rookie.
