The Jets can't afford to start the season at any disadvantage. That's my opinion. Smith isn't one of their best but he fills an important role. The Jets are more show than anything , and still are on the outside looking in . Cincinnati is still my favorite to get the (6th seed) if healthy. Losing a olineman isn't a good start but I'll take them ahead of the Jets in the playoff race!

The Jets are just as screwed this year as they were last year& Sanchez has had his receivers changed every year since the beginning. The Jets had a chance to bring Edwards/Plax back just to keep familiar faces around Sanchez and they decided to go with all rookies that do not impress anyone. Its almost like they are just setting Sanchez up for failure. No pass rush added. Can someone explain how we have 3 pro bowl lineman , but cannot protect Sanchez for 5 seconds. I do not think they could have looked any worse than they did Friday against the Bengals& SAD

Even Baylis has slowed his Tebow role. While I'm of the opinion Tebow is a fine athlete who possibly, if used correctly could help the Jets, he's definitely not a good pure passer. No secret lol! The Jets are a far cry from having the defense that led them to the AFC championship game, likely lack the ground game they'll need and have marginal receivers. Sanchez is a mid second tier QB with marginal receivers. Cincy is the better bet for the AFCs final playoff spot.

Anything bad that can happen to the Jets is a good thing. Thank you ESPN for making me hate these guys....but wait. Actually, I hated these guys before when Ryan was hired as H.C., Sanchez was drafted, HardKnocks showed up, Ryan kept talking, Bart Scott played for them, and the fact that they thought they were legitimate contenders in the AFC. The Colts and Steelers shut 'em up both times. Wasn't even close. If you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch.
