Unions suck!

Lawyers sue and sue until every normal aspect of life is consumed with litigation, and then the only way the lawyers can profit more is to spread their lawsuits to the public's favorite sports like NFL football. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A VIRUS. Lawyers are a disease, a cancer of this planet. They are a plague, and the bottom of the ocean is the cure.

And in other news, Bear Bryant is still dead.... Move along, nothing to see here... Smith is a fool! All he is doing is weakening a league... Enough is enough!!

Since the only suspension special master Burbank wanted clarification of was Hargrove's, Vilma, Fujita, and Smith might as well give up now. Burbank pretty much told the NFLPA that the NFL had the right to suspend them, and all of the reason needed. The NFLPA will obviously appeal this to another arbitrator, but they will lose...Burbank has already set the precedent.

At the rate things are going it wouldn't be out of the realm of imagination for the teams to shut everything down and start a new league minus the unions. It used t obe if the arbitrator ruled that was the end of it. Now, the union just moves on to another arbitrator. And are so sue happy it's nuts.

This stupid union needs to stop being so obsessed with getting back at Goodell and the owners through litigation and start worrying about things like players' long-term health, pensions, etc. The only way the union is going to win any of the various lawsuits and arbitration proceedings they've filed is by getting them before Judge Doty in Minnesota, who has demonstrated that he'll do whatever the union tells him to do. And even then they'll lose on appeal.

Standing: Lawyers 4-0 NFL 3-1 Union 1-3. Union will soon take in the as* on the next ruling, but keep spending those dollars. Thought prof athletes wanted to win - if so - maybe they should get rid of DeMuttehead Smith.

Hah! The players union is whistling by the graveyard. They are dead ducks on this issue and they should be. The players that participated should be kicked out of the NFL for good. Never again will I believe that they care about each other. No matter what the coaches told them, the final decision to just play hard or to try to hurt another player was made by the players, and they decided to hurt people.

I'm not sure what anything you just said has to do with bounties. Plenty of NFL players over the years have attempted to hurt each other with the intent to injury the other player, without bounties. The bounties are the problem in this case. I don't disagree that trying to injure colleagues is despicable, but those are two different problems.

Godell is ruling over a kingdom established by Rozell. I could run this league because Rozell's influence will always be a part of the NFL. In the scheme of things, Godell is ust an errand boy.

Rozelle worked for the owners. However, it was HIS business plan that made the NFL what it is.

You do realize that Pete Rozelle as Goodell today work(ed/s) for the owners. Thus, Rozelle's "kingdom" was created because the owners approved. I think you're naive to think that Goodell doesn't have the complete backing of over at least 24 of the owners........otherwise he wouldn't be getting massive $$$$ contract renewals! The "kingdom" isn't run by Goodell, it's facilitated by him and his decisions are always made on the owners he represents behalf. In other words, like Rozelle before him.......Goodell isn't ruling over the kingdom,..... his employers(owners) are, as they should.......it's their league and NOT the players!

I'm not a Saints fan by any means at all, however prior to the new CBA weren't the players technically unemployed until the new agreement was reached? If so, how can you punish and fine players for infractions that were prior to their new employment? I mean if someone got fired then rehired can they be punished for something that happened the first time they were employed with a company?.......Same concept the way I see it. Not saying the bounties are warranted but lets look at the facts

This continued into the 2011 season, most notably with bounties on Cam Newton.

"...the players' union later Monday said it will appeal Burbank's decision because it believes salary cap violations are involved in the payment." ______________________________________________________ Heck, there were salary cap violation involved with taking money for bounties!!! The NFLPA is ridiculous!!!

Some people don't like Goodell because the players don't. The players don't like him because he doesn't put up with their sh*t. The bottom line is the NFL has never been as profitable at any other time than it has under Goodell. The man knows how to run the league, and he has done a damn good job at it so far. Also, the people that run the NFL aren't dumb. You really think they would hand out unprecedented suspensions if they didn't have sufficient evidence? Really? They are too smart for that and are well aware of the ramifications of false accusations.

Actually, dollar for dollar, the NFL isn't as profitable in real adjusted dollars as it was under Tagliabue or the end of Rozelle. Sweet Kool Aid suck up though. Proof spin works on the weak minded.

It's the same reason BP corporate leaders can be on the hook but 4 of the hundreds of rig workers and middle management aren't singled out without evidence.

I have no idea how many illegal flags were thrown, but I'll bet the number doubles this year!!

I don't know, maybe because the team was just caught in a huge bounty program, for intentionally trying to harm other players, and collecting money for doing it, I'm just thinking the flags may be a little more prone to fly against a freshly uncovered dirty program like that, I could be wrong though...good question though.
