First of all the notion that Tyrann Mathieu is poor in coverage is flawed, as a high school despite being the number 11 corner coming out was widely renowned as having the best cover skills of any corner coming out. Second how is a player who does play a lot in coverage despite the misconception and has only giving up 1 touchdown in 2 years of college football poor in coverage. Even the national championship game, there were 4 completions caught on him that game, 3 of those were also outstanding catches it wasnt like he was out of position. Hes the most instinctual defender to come out probably ever and he is an outstanding tackler. So hes small, so is antoine winfield and he enjoyed a long prosperous career. Taken by the right team he will be a weapon in the NFL. Let Belichick get his hands on him. But im not worried about these silly rankings, his game speaks for itself and he will find himself drafted in the first 12 picks in 2013

Guess we'll see after this year. I'm not sure whether people really believe he's poor in man coverage, but the reality is that LSU mainly had him sit in zone coverage last season. He'll certainly give himself an opportunity to prove that he can be a lockdown corner with him taking on a bigger role, and even if he doesn't I expect he can still have a nice career as a FS/returner. That's just not an early round value.

The order is based on power rankings, not predictions over who will win the Super Bowl.

"The order was derived by reversing the postdraft power rankings of Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson" I mean, is it really that hard to read the article?

If it was power rankings then why are the Ravens not picking 29? after all, they are 4th in the power rankings. Steelers are not 3rd, and Giants not Patriots are ranked 1.

Well, at least he got the order of the AFC West right.

You made a mistake in the draft order. Miami will be picking #32 not 8.

U BETTER HOPE MIAMI picks in the teens and not in the top 5.....cause then ull realize u wasted a pick in 2012 when ur drafting barkley

Mr. McGibblets.
I admire BrickellRob's blind faith in Miami. I can only assume its drugs or early onset dementia speaking. Maybe he's invented a time machine with Doc and is sending his comment from 1974.

Um, time machines are real. Duh.

Mr. McGibblets.
You question the legitimacy of the statement because there weren't 32 teams in 1974, but the time machine didn't faze you? Interesting.

Psh, there weren't even 32 teams in 1974...

Keenan Allen will be the best WR from this class. He has size, speed and his football IQ and body control are off the charts. Give him a real QB and he will be special. Even with terrible QB play he managed to show up big in the biggest games...and you can't teach that.
Mr. McGibblets.
I'm a firm believer that if Allen had Barkley or any other high caliber QB throwing to him, he would be viewed as the #1 wideout on the board. Assuming he can come back to form from his surgery, he should produce big games. I say that with the utmost respect for Woods, because he was easily a close 2nd to Blackmon last year. Allen and Woods are both incredible talents, but a year from now, I think Allen surpasses him.

I used to think McShay was just some upstart punk, but I've grown to like his opinion more than Kiper's over the last two years. I'm now a McShay fan.

McShay has beaten Kiper in mock drafts four years in a row now so you keep sticking with Kiper since he is clearly so much better.

I'm still amazed he keeps his job at ESPN. I'll give him credit for putting in time and knowing who everyone is, but he's terrible at knowing what NFL teams need, much less want. I'm a Kiper guy personally.

Same order? Did you look beyond the first four picks? Or possibly read the article? I'm guessing not.

And Bama with only one first-rounder? Haven't they had 8 over the past two years?

I think if the Bears have a shot at Te'o they would draft him... Urlacher isnt getting any younger they need to look for a stud replacement ILB

Raiders picking 6th? I'm a Raiders fan so maybe I'm biased but I just don't see how they don't win 7-8 games next year. I'm not saying they will win that division but the should be competitive especially with Palmer having another year and and an off season in the system. A healthy McFadden/J. Ford and hopefully the continued improvement of Heyward-Bey and D. Moore. To many weapons for them to not win at least 7 games.

Because all of the other teams in the West improved, and they declined. You're assuming that Palmer is even a league average QB, which he is not. Their defense will more than likely be a sieve, and they have to play Rivers twice, Manning twice and a rough overall schedule. 4-12

He's a better QB than Cassel. What does that say about the Chiefs' upcoming season? The last 4 times they've played Rivers, they've beaten him 3 times. Unless they get Vincent Jackson back, and unless Gates stays healthy (not likely to happen), the Raiders could finish ahead of the Chargers.

McShay, I know this is a ridiculously tough task to make this mock draft, but I think the Outland Trophy winner from this past year who has paved the way for two Heisman finalist RBs (one of whom won the award) and has two NC rings will probably be a high first-round pick. So be honest, you completely forgot about Barrett Jones, right?

He's moving to Center this upcoming season, so it remains to be seen how he adjusts. Also consider that no Centers and only 2 Guards were taken in the 1st this year.

It is a joke to think that Logan Thomas and Landry Jones will go ahead of either Tyler Bray or Tyler Wilson. As a Bama student, I am happy for us to beat up on both of those guys during the season, but both can play some ball. Barkley is throwing to two first round receivers in the Pac-12, where defense is optional. Wilson plays in the SEC behind an OL made of Swiss cheese and still managed to top Barkley in yards, while throwing less interceptions. I have much respect for him after seeing the way he played against us last year and was surprised he wasn't injured with some of the hits he was taking. He was never afraid to take a hit after releasing the ball though.

ACC LBs? haha Bray can't hold Wilson or Landry's jock. Barkley is overrated.

You obviously havent seen Logan Thomas play. And run over LB's that are NFL ready. He ran over Lavonte David twice in one game. And threw to a group of receivers that had one guy drafted and 3 graduate. Tyler Wilson plays on a wide open Arky team that had 2 receivers drafted in the 3-4 rounds. His numbers get inflated. Tyler Bray is a good QB, but he isn't built in a 6'4" 260 lb frame that can run a 4.5 forty. I dont watch enough big 12 to know about Landry, but from what little I've seen he has kind of a small arm, I dont ever see him throw over 20 yards at a time.
