Murren, Tvrdy leaving Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska's Sadie Murren and Hannah Tvrdy have decided to transfer.

Coach Connie Yori said Wednesday that Murren plans to move to an NCAA Division II or NAIA school so she can play next season. Yori said Tvrdy also plans to continue playing basketball.

Murren, a guard from Wahoo, played in 25 games as a sophomore this season, averaging 2.6 points and one rebound. Tvrdy, a guard from Seward, appeared in 21 games as a freshman and averaged 1.5 points. Murren and Tvrdy each played about eight minutes a game.

Nebraska is set to return four starters from its 2013-14 team that finished 26-7, won the Big Ten tournament and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
