STILLWATER, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's Brittney Martin had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the No. 21 Cowgirls to a 76-65 win Friday over Loyola Marymount.

Martin had six assists and five steals, while Liz Donohoe added 20 points in the first meeting between the schools.

Deanna Johnson led Loyola Marymount with 22 points.

The Lions shot 48 percent in the first half, but OSU scored the last five points of the period for 37-27 advantage at the break.

Loyola Marymount got within 66-61, but Martin put back on offensive rebound and Roshunda Johnson added a free throw to extend the lead.

Cowgirls sophomore Brittany Atkins, who missed two exhibitions, will sit out another regular-season game while serving a suspension for violating team rules.

Oklahoma State improved to 31-11 all-time in season openers, winners of nine consecutive home openers since 2005.
