WACO, Texas -- Baylor forced twice as many turnovers as coach Kim Mulkey hopes to get in any given game, and the Lady Bears were simply standing still for plenty of them.

The Lady Bears drew 10 offensive fouls among 31 turnovers by Oral Roberts, and Nina Davis had 22 points and 10 rebounds in No. 8 Baylor's 101-60 victory in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

"Charges were very obvious tonight," Mulkey said. "We've emphasized that since the last exhibition game. If we get in foul trouble trying to get a charge, I'm going to live with those kinds of fouls."

The Golden Eagles had turnovers on six of their first seven possessions while getting outscored 37-2 in points off turnovers.

"The turnovers and the lack of aggressiveness was a great reason for us to be in the situation we were in," Oral Roberts coach Misti Cussen said. "Atoe' (Jackson) got three charges in the first half, and she was just trying to do too much instead of trying to play a more team style offensively."

Vicky McIntyre had 10 points and 17 rebounds for Oral Roberts despite picking up her third foul with 9 minutes left in the first half, and Jordan Doyle scored 14.

The Lady Bears, playing without either Brittney Griner or Odyssey Sims for the first time in more than five years, took a 12-0 lead and were up by double digits for good with 14 minutes left in the first half.

Khadijiah Cave scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting while Imani Wright had three of Baylor's four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points.

Baylor scored the final eight points of the first half to take a 49-25 lead into the break. Davis converted a three-point play and hit two more free throws, and Wright hit a 3 as the clock ran out.

Early in the second half, Baylor went on a 10-0 run for a 66-33 lead with 13:14 to play. Wright scored six during the stretch.

Seven of the first-half turnovers were offensive fouls as the Golden Eagles had two players foul out while the Lady Bears were 27 of 42 on free throws. Davis was 12 of 17 from the line.

TIP-INS

Oral Roberts: Three starters -- McIntyre, the center, and guards Jackson and Jordan Gilbert -- each picked up three fouls in the first half. But all three finished with four. Tysia Manuel and Bernadett Balla fouled out.

Baylor: Third-year sophomore Alexis Prince, who was limited to four games last season because of stress fractures in both feet, had six points on 3-of-10 shooting. ... The Lady Bears had 10 more offensive rebounds than the Golden Eagles and outscored them 22-6 on second-chance points.

AUSSIE DEBUT

Baylor freshman Kristy Wallace of Australia, starting her first game, scored 11 points before fouling out with 15 seconds left. She had three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 29 minutes.

NEW FLOOR LEADER

Niya Johnson had eight assists -- one more than Oral Roberts' team total -- in her first game running the Baylor offense without Sims, the two-time All-America point guard. Johnson took just three shots and had seven points.
