Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight visited an Oklahoma City hospital to get his knee examined Sunday morning, but the injury is not believed to be serious, a team source told ESPN.com.
Knight injured the knee on a run at the end of the first half. He played on the injury through the third quarter before the Sooners replaced him with Blake Bell early in the fourth. The source said Knight had an MRI on the knee to confirm there were no tears, but the results of the scan were not immediately available.
Knight, a redshirt freshman, struggled in his second career start for the Sooners, who defeated West Virginia 16-7 Saturday. Knight completed 10 of 20 passes, but went only 1 of 5 passing in the second half and was benched shortly after tossing interceptions on back-to-back drives.
After the game, coach Bob Stoops said the No. 14 Sooners would have to discuss whether Knight or Bell would start next week against Tulsa. Knight beat out Bell for the starting job during the preseason.
