The harsh reality, though, is that only a fraction have a legitimate playoff chance. The vast majority are pretenders that would need a lot of luck to make a CFP run.
But there are a few super sleepers that are a step or two away from barging into the playoff bracket.
In this fourth part of a five-part series, let's take a look at one of those sleepers: the Washington Huskies.
The Huskies won only seven games last year and haven't posted a double-digit victory total since the 2000 season, but a case can be made that Chris Petersen's squad should be considered the favorite to win the Pac-12 North.
