QB Ryan Finley to transfer from Boise State

College Football, Boise State Broncos

Ryan Finley, who was the starting quarterback last season for Boise State before suffering a broken bone in his ankle, will transfer from the school, coach Bryan Harsin said Tuesday.

Finley, who will transfer after he graduates in May, was named the Broncos' starter at the start of last season after winning a four-man competition for the job. His season ended prematurely after the injury against Idaho in September.

"We wish Ryan the best," Harsin said. "He is going to leave Boise State with a degree, and that is what this is all about."

Finley passed for 485 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions, completing 65.7 percent of his passes, before his injury.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback has played in seven games in his career, throwing for 646 yards with three touchdowns and five interceptions.
