The guy on each top 25 you don't want to see on April 1

Mark Schlabach's 2016 Way-Too-Early Top 25 has Alabama and Florida State in the top two spots, but each face big questions to answer this spring.

Using those rankings, and keeping April Fool's Day in mind, here is the guy on each of our top 25 teams that you might want to avoid on April 1.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

You have to be fearless to be a prankster, and Jake Long proved he was just that at the Cotton Bowl last season, taking aim at a head coach many consider to be the most intimidating in the game. The walk-on defensive lineman imitated Nick Saban to near perfection, mimicking his hoarse voice, hand movements and even his propensity to call out the media. -- Alex Scarborough

2. Florida State Seminoles

Florida State's DeMarcus Walker has broken out of his shell over his years at Florida State, and now the senior defensive end holds a weekly trivia contest on his Snapchat. -- Jared Shanker

3. Michigan Wolverines

The offensive line is always a good place to look for the fun-loving crowd. Kyle Kalis, a fifth-year senior, is pretty quick with a joke. He's also big enough that he wouldn't need to worry about too much retribution for stuffing a rookie in his locker or filling someone's helmet with shaving cream. -- Dan Murphy

4. Baylor Bears

As the quarterback, Seth Russell has emerged as the Bears' emotional leader. But he also knows how to keep it loose. After Russell injured his neck last October, tackle Spencer Drango joked that Russell was set up to be Frankenstein for Halloween. Russell also flies, and has his teammates freaked out of tales of stalling out planes when he pilots. -- Jake Trotter

5. Clemson Tigers

Jay Guillermo burst onto the national scene last season as he seized a starting role and helped anchor a Clemson offensive line that exceeded outside expectations. But when the redshirt senior center isn't snapping to Deshaun Watson or paving the way for Wayne Gallman runs, he is keeping things loose around the program. Guillermo is good for lightening the mood at practice with wisecracks, and he can do a number of impressions of his teammates and coaches as well. -- Matt Fortuna

6. LSU Tigers

Maybe there are bigger pranksters on LSU's team, but Foster Moreau has to rank among the silliest Tigers. Although true freshmen are generally off limits for interviews, Moreau was still a regular at team media sessions last season, regularly entering groups of reporters circled around his teammates, sticking his "fruit microphone" -- an orange or other fruit stuck onto the end of a pen -- into the mix of tape recorders and asking the interviewees absurd questions -- David Ching

7. Oklahoma Sooners

He's not exactly a prankster, but running back Alex Ross constantly has his teammates cracking up. While the Sooners were filming Ross for the Jumbotron introduction video, Ross, with a straight face, deadpanned, "I study the ancient arts of 'Hopkito.'" Said fullback Dimitri Flowers, "Everyone is dying laughing. What is 'Hopkito.' What is he talking about?" Added center Jonathan Alvarez, "If y'all could mic him up on the sideline and listen to the stuff he says ..." -- Trotter

8. Stanford Cardinal

The Cardinal say that all of their chief pranksters have graduated -- defensive lineman Aziz Shittu held the honor for the past several seasons -- but the new man for the job is said to be Luke Kaumatule. At 6-foot-7 and nearly 300 pounds, he's a big man for the funny guy role. -- David Lombardi

9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Anyone who saw Notre Dame's "bad lip reading" video can attest to the humorous instincts of quarterback Malik Zaire and defensive lineman Jay Hayes. Just look at Hayes' impression of defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder. Hayes has crashed media sessions before, while Zaire has always had a big personality in front of cameras and with his teammates as the offense's leader. -- Fortuna

10. Ohio State Buckeyes

Among the many roles the Buckeyes must fill after losing so many veterans is the job keeping the locker room loose, a task Tyvis Powell, Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliott certainly embraced. But Ohio State does still have Zach Smith around on the coaching staff, and the fun-loving, social-media-posting, trash-talking position coach helps set the tone for a program that is generally far more lighthearted than might be perceived. Nobody is safe from Smith's sense of humor, which could generate a fresh batch of pranksters from his daily meetings with the wideouts. -- Austin Ward

11. Houston Cougars

He may be a man of modest stature and few words (at least publicly) but don't let that fool you when it comes to quarterback Greg Ward Jr., teammates say. "He's a goofball, always messing around," defensive end Cameron Malveaux said. "I've chased him around the locker room at least 20 times in my career. He's always doing something to somebody." Ward specializes in the hit-and-run. Receiver Chance Allen joked Ward might throw a quick punch and take off; safety Garrett Davis said "He'll give me a slap on the neck and run, which he knows I don't like, or he'll squirt me in the face with a water bottle for no reason." -- Sam Khan

12. Tennessee Volunteers

Quarterback Joshua Dobbs isn't exactly gut-busting funny, but he does cause his teammates to chuckle at times when he tries to talk trash to defenders in practice. Players describe his quips as "corny" and "harmless." Dobbs wouldn't say he's corny, but his jokes can sometimes get under the skin of his defensive teammates in practice, especially when they can't tackle him. Sometimes Dobbs, an aerospace engineering major, responds to jabs from his teammates with more confusing and intellectual jokes that only he gets. -- Edward Aschoff

13. Ole Miss Rebels

On the field, WR Derrick Jones caught six passes for 120 yards this past season. His best moment came when he hauled in a 45-yard touchdown grab against Auburn. Off the field, he's the best dancer on the team. He's been called a "flashy dresser" by those that know him. And his jokes will be put to the test next month when he co-hosts the Rebels Choice Awards, the annual Ole Miss awards show. -- Greg Ostendorf

14. Michigan State Spartans

Who will take over Shilique Calhoun's crown this year? The outgoing captain found some goofy ways to keep the defense loose in the last few years. The Spartans shouldn't have to look far for a replacement. Craig Evans was the first to rip on Calhoun for his new nose ring during bowl season and has the personality to keep teammates on their toes as long as he stays out of trouble. -- Murphy

15. TCU Horned Frogs

Aviante Collins has been known to hide goat cheese in teammates' rooms, leaving them wondering what the foul smell is and where it is coming from. Collins, who has had an injury-riddled career at TCU, was recently granted an extra year of eligibility, so fellow Frogs will have to keep their eyes open for Collins' antics at least one more season. -- Brandon Chatmon

16. USC Trojans

The Trojans' funniest character is Zach Banner, who made it very clear to our Kenny Mayne that offensive linemen are people, too. Banner is serious -- but his humor and prankster tendencies shine through here. -- Lombardi

17. Iowa Hawkeyes

DT Jaleel Johnson's antics pale in comparison to the nonstop playing of the Iowa fight song from the windows of a vacant building in Niagara Falls, which really happened, or the infamous, Iowa-themed Rose Bowl halftime display of Stanford band. But the senior defensive tackle is known for his locker-room fun. Teammates say Johnson lightens the mood regularly and enjoys, at 6-4 and 310 pounds, poking fun at the body shapes and sizes of other Hawkeyes. -- Mitch Sherman

18. North Carolina Tar Heels

Mack Hollins is not only the most presidential player in UNC's locker room, but he is also the one pulling the most jokes. The man affectionately known as "Backpack Mack" in Chapel Hill is one of the lead jokesters at UNC. -- Shanker

19. Georgia Bulldogs

Linebacker Ryne Rankin isn't a household name and his career has mostly revolved around special teams, but Rankin has taken full advantage of his comedic Twitter role. From funny memes and videos he's retweeted to his own humor that is usually directed to his teammates. Rankin really knows how to lighten the mood when his fingers get behind a keyboard. He's also up-to-date on the importance of Young Metro trusting you, so you have to respect that. -- Aschoff

20. Oregon Ducks

The Ducks say that receiver Devon Allen is the team's biggest prankster, and his sense of humor was on display this past season when a group of Oregon players got stuck in an elevator prior to their game against Colorado. -- Lombardi

21. UCLA Bruins

As quarterback, Josh Rosen is the leader of the Bruins' offense. He may also be the king of unpredictably when it comes to the UCLA offense. As demonstrated last season, you just never know what you're going to get when you walk into his room. This video is evidence. Rosen set up an inflatable hot tub in his college dorm room as a true freshman. -- Lombardi

22. Oklahoma State Cowboys

Oklahoma State has a pair of Cowboys who have personalities bigger than a 10 gallon hat. CB Ramon Richards, who overcame a rare spinal condition as a child to become a college football player, and LB Kirk Tucker, a academic All-Big 12 honoree, are a duo who love to have fun and keep things light during the daily grind of Big 12 football. Richards is a junior who started several games as a freshman before playing a backup role a year ago and is fighting to return to the starting lineup in 2016, while Tucker is a backup linebacker who has been an impact player on special teams during his first two seasons on campus and could earn a bigger role on defense in 2016. -- Chatmon

23. Washington Huskies

According to Husky players, the roster doesn't feature anyone who specializes in pranks. But receiver and return specialist John Ross is known as the funniest guy on the team, while teammates also say that safety Budda Baker has sense of humor to keep an eye on. Both also happen to be Washington standouts -- Ross is Washington's fastest player, while Baker leads the secondary. -- Lombardi

24. Florida Gators

With team funny man and prankster Jake McGee gone, the Gators are searching for the player who can make them laugh in the locker room. For now, all eyes are on offensive lineman Antonio Riles. He might not be full of gags, like McGee was, but he's known by folks in Gainesville for having a very loud and outgoing personality. Though he has monster shoes to fill with McGee gone, Riles filling the void by always making people laugh in Florida's locker room. -- Aschoff

25. Boise State Broncos

Kicker Tyler Rausa has been an effective force for the Broncos on the field -- he converted 83 percent of his field goal attempts last year -- and he's also done some solid work off of it. Rausa is one of the Boise State players that runs the @Specialists_BSU Twitter account, a humorous documentation of the struggles that kickers and punters face in everyday life. -- Lombardi
