FSU's Brewster in top spot

Now that football season is in full swing, we continue to move into the meat of the recruiting calendar. More and more prospects are making decisions and the best recruiters in the country are starting to rise to the top. With that in mind, RecruitingNation presents its midseason recruiting power rankings update. The recruiter power rankings examine which assistant coaches have already done damage on the recruiting trail in the 2016 class. Beyond looking at how many four- or five-star recruits a coach lands, the rankings take into account the needs those recruits will fill at the next level.

Previous rankings

10. Corby Meekins
School:
Houston
ESPN 300 recruits: 1
Top commitment: ESPN 300 No. 5 Edward Oliver
Previous ranking:

What his peers are saying: "I know he recently lost Jordan Elliott, but nobody is doing a better job in Houston than Corby Meekins," a Big 12 recruiter said. "He has such deep roots and connections throughout the city from his time as a high school coach that everybody respects the heck out of him. Everybody opens their doors wide open for Corby. I know a lot of fans were shocked when Oliver committed to them, but we weren't. We knew he was going to end up there because of Corby, and he won't be the only surprise he gets for them before signing day. I bet he flips [Arizona State ESPN 300 quarterback commit] Dillon Sterling-Cole."
