Mike Tuaua and Andre Petties-Wilson reinstated but facing criminal charges

TCU defensive end Mike Tuaua, who was arrested last week on felony robbery charges, has been cleared by the university's judicial committee and reinstated to the team, coach Gary Patterson said Wednesday.

Tuaua was suspended for TCU's past three games but will be available when the Horned Frogs take on Texas this Saturday. Backup wide receiver Andre Petties-Wilson was also reinstated after also being cleared by the school's judicial committee.

The two were arrested after being accused by a TCU student of kicking and punching him and his friends and stealing a case of Keystone Light beer outside a party the night after the Horned Frogs opened the season with a win at Minnesota.

Patterson came to Tuaua's defense during a news conference the day after the arrest.

"I'm not going to let you all say [Tuaua] is a bad person," Patterson said. "We'll find out what the facts are, and those will some day come out."

Though they've been cleared by TCU, Tuaua and Petties-Wilson still face criminal charges.

Tuaua, a senior, started five games for the Horned Frogs last year.
