Mike White given OK to transfer

Junior quarterback Mike White, who started 15 games over two seasons for the South Florida Bulls, has been permitted to transfer to another school, coach Willie Taggart said Tuesday.

"Mike and I talked after the conclusion of spring practice and he expressed his desire to pursue the remainder of his career at another school," Bulls coach Willie Taggart said in a release. "We wish Mike all the best in his future and thank him for his contributions to our program and university."

White, according to reports, had fallen behind Quinton Flowers and Steven Bench at the position during spring practices, which "had its weight in my decision," White told the Tampa Bay Times.

White threw for 2,722 yards over his two seasons with 11 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

"I think the world of these coaches and this university and that's what made it such a tough decision to leave," White told the Times. "I wish them the best of luck. ... I just felt there's a better situation for me."
