Rich Rodriguez has been through his share of signing-day drama.
Just last year, Rodriguez had a last-minute decision by a recruit go his way.
This year: Nothing.
Enjoying a rare quiet signing day, Rodriguez announced a solid 25-player recruiting class on Wednesday, many of whom committed long ago and stuck to their decisions.
"A lot of these guys have been committed for quite some time and there was really no drama today," Rodriguez said. "This was probably the least amount of drama I have ever experienced as a head coach on national signing day. It was a good day all around and we are already starting to work on the future."
The 2015 class wasn't ranked quite as highly as some of Rodriguez's previous classes -- 41st nationally by Scout and Rivals -- but this year he was more focused on players who fit the program than where they were rated by recruiting services.
The top-rated player of the class came from within the state.
Keenan Walker, an athletic offensive tackle, played just up Interstate 10 at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale and was rated as the No. 2 overall recruit from Arizona.
Arizona stocked up on linemen with this year's class, adding five on offense and four on defense.
The Wildcats also added a pair of safeties and DeVonte' Neal, a receiver last season, asked the coaches if he could switch to cornerback.
"We had some immediate needs that we tried to fill and I think we did with this class," Rodriguez said.
What the class didn't include was a quarterback.
Last year's starter, Anu Solomon, returns and the Wildcats still have plenty of depth at that position even after Connor Brewer opted to transfer.
