Utah State, UTEP to meet in New Mexico Bowl

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Utah State will face UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl on Dec. 20.

It's the second selection to the bowl for the Conference USA Miners (7-5), who lost to BYU in 2010, and also their first since postseason berth since then.

UTEP secured its first winning season since 2005 with a 24-21 win over Middle Tennessee.

The Aggies (9-4) are making their fourth straight bowl game appearance, including wins back-to-back wins in the Potato Bowl in 2012 and Poinsettia Bowl last season. Utah State was 6-2 in the Mountain West Conference this season, and it's won five of its last six games -- led by conference defensive player of the year Zach Vigil.

The Aggies won both previous meetings, in 1960 and 1961.
