UTSA beats Southern Miss 12-10 behind Ianno's FGs

SAN ANTONIO -- Sean Ianno kicked four field goals, including a 38-yarder as time expired, and Texas-San Antonio beat Southern Mississippi 12-10 on Thursday night to snap a three-game losing streak.

Ianno connected from 41 and 28 yards in the second quarter to give UTSA a 6-0 halftime lead and added a 35-yarder early in the third to boost the lead to 9-0 for UTSA (3-7, 2-4 Conference USA).

But Corey Acosta kicked a 36-yard field goal for Southern Mississippi (3-8, 1-6) just 18 seconds into the fourth quarter and Nick Mullens hit Markese Triplett with a 22-yard touchdown pass midway through the period to give the Golden Eagles a one-point lead.

Austin Robinson 27 of 44 for 177 yards and David Glasco II ran for 108 Yards on 16 carries to pace the Roadrunners.

Mullens finished 20 of 33 for 249 yards passing for Southern Miss, which lost two fumbles.
