2 ECU players in single-car accident

GREENVILLE, N.C. -- East Carolina says defensive end Terrell Stanley is in critical condition after he and a teammate were involved in a single-car accident in Greenville.

School officials said Wednesday that Stanley was being treated at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville after the accident Wednesday morning.

Coach Ruffin McNeill sayid in a statement that Stanley "has showed signs of steadily improving" and that the player's family has gathered with teammates and coaches.

Offensive tackle Isaac Harris was a passenger in a car driven by Stanley to school from their off-campus residence when they crashed on U.S. Route 264 Alternate.

Harris was treated and released from Vidant after a precautionary evaluation.

Stanley is a rising junior who started 12 games last season and had 46 tackles. Harris also started 12 games.
