why is the mainstream media so willing to make excuses for USC. No question that Barkley, Woods, and Lee are dynamic players, but there is also no question that showed on Saturday that they have a few holes. O-line had trouble protecting Barkley; d-line had trouble getting pressure on Hassib; and depth is clearly an issue. i wouldn't be so quick to anoint this version of the Trojans quite yet. I didn't see a team that was ready to beat Oregon ...and I surely didn't see a team that was top 5 caliber.

I can't believe the people who do the voting still have them at #2. the way the media was hyping USC up, I thought I WAS WAS GOING TO SEE PLAYERS THAT COULD WAVE THEIR ARMS AND FLOAT ON THIN AIR INSTEAD OF WALKING/RUNNING ON THE GROUND. USC is definitely overrated as a football team. They were not impressive at all. I'm just wondering why he came back for another year. Is it due to the amount of cash and gifts that he's secretly taken from a booster ,you know the same way that Reggie Bush did when he was there at USC. Will the NCAA idiots ever do an investigation into it to see if this really did happen?

Everybody knows USCs defense is not championship level, but they have the best offense this year and can certainly score enough to pick up the defense. Cam & Auburn won a NC with an average defense.

If USC makes the national championship Alabama will kill them. Offense doesn't win championships. Barkley and those receivers can get all the awards they want but the only championship they gonna get is the pac-12 championship.

I hate to say it but the winner of Bama/LSU will be the national champion again. Their won't be a rematch just bc the country won't allow it but they are the two best teams in the Nation by far. Everyone knows you have to have a defense to win the NC and if USC somehow makes it the Bama/LSU defense will hold them to 14 or under if they even score. I hate to admit it but SEC has too much speed and gets all the talent in the country. I'm thinking an ACC team makes NCG bc I don't think USC or Oregon makes it, they split this year I think.

kstate, let me tell you something that even a 2nd grader knows. It's hard to rack up yards when you are so close to the endzone. If you are only 7 yards from the endzone, then the max you can get is 7 yards. If you score 6 TD's then it means you were limited by the endzone being so close.

He should slobber all over the two SC receivers. They are the best in college football. They are fun to watch as are the rest of the Trojans. It should be a helluva game when they meet Oregon. Pac-12 may not have the defenses of the SEC, but they sure watching games fun. That is why they have turned out so many QBs over the years. Innovative offenses and great skill people. Then again, why are we even discussing K-State. Nice program, but nothing special.

No, they didn't. Northwestern had 213 yards passing and 337 total yards against Syracuse. It was Syracuse that threw for 400+ against Northwestern.
