Buckeyes lead 'one-year-away' teams
Travis Haney
May 2, 2012

Just as they have since 1890, the Ohio State Buckeyes will play football this fall. It will be a different sort of season, though. Due to the Buckeyes' one-year postseason ban, there's already an eye...

Unfortunately, The Ohio State University has no bowl game in 2012. I believe this happened because people blabbed that they had received all the penalties that they were going to get--and that comments by the new head coach and athletic director to that effect got the NCAA to add the bowl ban!

sleeper team............ WVU, i think they could fly up the rankings this year with geno in his second year with dana and they got 2 of the best playmakers in the country with tavon austin and stedman bailey.

Very original picking all the big schools... how about we step out on a limb somewhere in this column.

The teams have to out on a limb, ESPN is only looking at the stats and giving the odds. The teams have to put out better stats. You act like ESPN has something to do with how the teams perform. They can say a small school is going to win but they would just get made fun of when the school fails to perform. Don't blame ESPN, blame the school. lol

Every year it's "Ohio State has a chance to win it all" ... my eyes are tired of reading this nonsense.

maybe because they had the winningest record in the BCS era until last year? As for the SEC, simply put in a replay of the Arkansas game

It doesn't matter who OSU plays and beats until 11/24 when Brady comes to town and puts a whipping on the Buckeyes!

Ohio State is far out due to the fact they hired a fraud for a head coach. He won 2 titles in 3 years yes. He then lost his magician Dan Mullen and immediately fell off. The talent didn't drop off. Clearly Mullen leaving was a big deal. Gave him chest pains so bad thinking about it he quit twice!

Yeah they still had plenty of talent as evident by Butch Muschamp doing an even worse job....

What? A fraud for a coach? This is all because you can't get over the fact that he left your beloved team? Have you not already seen his immediate impact? You're a typical fool with an axe to grind.

OSU really? Not when they keep losing commitments over letting sex offenders hanging out with their recruits haha! OSU is no where near being ready to compete for a National Championship in a year. Neither is ND. I can't remember how many times I have heard someone say that ND will be in the national championship hunt, and every year they are proven wrong. It really does amaze me tho with the recruiting class they bring in every year.

A number of people have reported the kid wasn't as comfortable with his early commit and was thinking of backing out anyways, so this provided him an excuse.

One scared little boy backing out from a commitment isn't going to affect this team in any way, shape or form. It looks worse on him than it does the university. You need to get your nose out of the MAC and pay attention to what is going on in big boy conferences. Ohio State is going to be that good. You're a typical hater trying to get another shot in when you can.

the sex offender thing is strange. The kid was on an "unofficial visit". This was not on Ohio State to watch a kid and keep him away from getting his picture taken. Even if it was an "Official visit" it would be difficult,(almost impossible to police) but this is ridiculous. The Dad thought OSU should've been surrounding their kid with Homeland security, when the Dad is soley responsible on an unofficial visit anyway. How ironic.

why isn't osu ready? do they have a $@%!$@ program? coach? unathletic qb? wrong players for the system? No. They're going to be unbelievable. Sure they lost a recruit but it didn't stop meyer from having a top 5 recruiting class this year and again next year. Travis you're terrible go home, I assume your home is ann arbor.
