An ode to college basketball's underappreciated coaches

We're in the thick of recruiting season, and the daily announcements of school choices begs some questions, not only what makes a great coach but also what role getting the best talent plays in that equation.

Certainly Mike Krzyzewski and John Calipari attract the best talent and win, as do Bill Self and Sean Miller. On the other hand, Bo Ryan and Tony Bennett aren't blessed with the same level of talent, but they win anyway with consistently tremendous offense and defense, respectively. (On the subject of defense, you can substitute "Steve Fisher" for "Tony Bennett" in the previous sentence and not skip a beat.) And as for Tom Izzo, you may have noticed his teams tend to perform pretty well in the NCAA tournament.

Fair enough, we can all appreciate the incredible work done by these self-evidently great coaches and a few more like them. But which coaches are currently being underappreciated? Here are six nominees:
