After taking Buffalo to the NCAA tournament for the first time, Bobby Hurley saw his name pop up in connection to the DePaul job -- until the administration opted to being back Dave Leitao. It then looked like Hurley, the former Duke star, would be returning to Buffalo -- until Arizona State came calling. This was the one Hurley wanted anyway. Who wouldn't want to go from Buffalo to Tempe, Arizona, especially when you can more than double your salary and won't have to win three conference tournament games to get into the NCAA tourney? That said, the 43-year-old Hurley will not have an easy task to make Arizona State relevant on a national level. Remember, this is a program that hasn't been to the Sweet 16 in 20 years. What Hurley inherits Arizona State returns four starters from a team that went 18-16 overall, 9-9 in the Pac-12 and received an NIT bid a year ago.
