Holy Cross ousts Milan Brown

Holy Cross parted ways with coach Milan Brown on Friday.

Brown, 44, has coached the Crusaders for five seasons, making a CollegeInsider.com Tournament appearance in 2014. Brown entered this season with a 55-67 overall record, and Holy Cross went 14-16 overall and 8-10 in Patriot League play.

"I am disappointed that we must make this change, but the success of our men's basketball program has not been commensurate with our competitive expectations under Coach Brown's leadership," athletic director Nathan Pine said in a statement. "I thank Coach Brown for all his efforts at Holy Cross and his many contributions to the College community, especially his care and concern for our student-athletes."

Brown was previously the head coach at Mount St. Mary's for seven seasons, reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2008. He spent time as an assistant coach at Mount St. Mary's, William & Mary and Old Dominion.
