Time is running out for the state of Indiana's two Big Ten programs to state their cases.

Indiana, mired in a 4-7 stretch that included a blowout home loss Tuesday night to Iowa, clings to a "last four in" designation, which brings with it a No. 12 seed and first-round matchup with Temple in the latest edition of the bracket.

Purdue, which had helped its cause with an 8-1 run to climb the Big Ten standings, has dropped back-to-back contests, including Wednesday night at Michigan State. The Boilermakers are in the field right now as an 11-seed, but are dangling on the precipice.

The Hoosiers and Boilers will need to seize the day Saturday, when IU hosts Michigan State and Purdue hosts fellow bubble team Illinois (the Illini are currently in the "next four out" group). Losses there, and early exits in the Big Ten tournament, could add up to major trouble for both programs.
