Gonzaga guard Kevin Pangos named WCC player of the year

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- West Coast Conference champion No. 7 Gonzaga swept the league's four major individual awards on Tuesday.

Senior point guard Kevin Pangos was named WCC player of the year. Pangos averaged 11.6 points, 5 assists and 2.1 3-pointers per game.

His backcourt mate, Gary Bell Jr., was named defensive player of the year. Junior forward Kyle Wiltjer, a transfer from Kentucky, was named newcomer of the year.

Mark Few, who became the first WCC coach to surpass 200 league victories, was coach of the year for the 10th time.

Joining Pangos on the All-WCC first team were: Jared Brownridge, Santa Clara; Kerry Carter, Saint Mary's; Kyle Collinsworth, BYU; Stacy Davis, Pepperdine; Johnny Dee, San Diego; Tyler Haws, BYU; Przemek Karnowski, Gonzaga; Brad Waldow, Saint Mary's; Kyle Wiltjer, Gonzaga.
