Kuran Iverson to leave Memphis

Memphis sophomore forward Kuran Iverson is leaving the program after being suspended for the past three games, the school announced Friday.

The 6-foot-9 Iverson was once a highly rated high school player coming out of Connecticut, but sources told ESPN that Memphis coach Josh Pastner kicked Iverson out of the program following yet another suspension -- and told him to transfer elsewhere. Iverson was averaging 4.6 points and 1.9 rebounds this season and is expected to leave after the spring semester.

"We thank Kuran for his contributions to the program and wish him well in his future academic and athletic endeavors," Pastner said in a statement Friday.

Memphis is 10-6 and hosts Central Florida on Saturday.
