          On an otherwise nondescript evening late in 1999, eventual national champion Michigan State ventured to Dayton, Ohio, to take on Wright State. The Raiders brought an untidy 3-8 record into the contest, a mark that didn't figure to improve against Mateen Cleaves, Morris "MoPete" Peterson & Co.
