Daily Word: Biggest surprise team?
Every weekday, a panel of our college hoops experts discusses the biggest issues, trends and themes happening in and around college basketball.
1. Which team has the most potential to surprise you this season?
Andy Katz: Providence. The Friars went on a tremendous run last season to take the Big East tournament title. Villanova is the pick to win the Big East handily. But PC coach Ed Cooley loves his frontcourt and is optimistic about his youthful backcourt. If the guards can catch up quickly, the Friars could be a top 25 team and NCAA-bound by season's end.

2. What team has the most potential to disappoint you this season?
Katz: I'll be very interested to see how Nebraska handles success. The Huskers didn't finish well last season. They return the core of the squad but now won't surprise anyone in the Big Ten. The expectations are high. How Tim Miles handles that will be one of his toughest challenges to date.

3. More wins this season for recent Duke assistants: Chris Collins at Northwestern or Steve Wojciechowski at Marquette?
Katz: This isn't a fair comparison based on the difference between the Big Ten and Big East. Collins is in more of a rebuilding mode. I'll lean toward Marquette because of the ability to win on the road in the Big East over the Big Ten.
